The Town of Bolton Development Corporation adminnisters programs including:

  1. HOUSING
  2. FOOD AND NUTRITION
  3. YOUTH PROGRAMS
  4. RESOURCE ASSISTANCE

HOUSING:  

     A 40-Unit HUD Section 8 USDA Rural Development housing complex serves the very low, low and moderate income individuals of rural Hinds County.  Technical Assistance is provided to low-income individuals to assist in perparing FmHA application packaging. Emergency Shelter assistance is also available.

FOOD AND NUTRITION:  Our nutrition program provides nutrition services for the elderly, 60 and older and children 5 years old in rural Hinds County.  Through community partners such as the Mississippi Food Network, TOBDC is able to assist community partners in relieving poverty related hunger in our communities.

YOUTH PROGRAMS:  Through partners like Americorps VISTA, TOBDC is able to provide programs to youth from disadvantaged backgrounds seeking to enhance their skills while building stronger communities.

RESOURCE ASSISTANCE:

    TOBDC  has created a  Biomass Conservation Exploratory that will lead the efforts of engaging community partners in  life sustainability projects through Agricultural and Rural development collaborations. Our focus of collaboration will be the development of rural Hinds County, Mississippi communities, including Bolton, Byram, Edwards, Raymond, Terry and Utica. This project is designed to enhance the state’s long-term capability in biomass production to provide the greatest economic benefits, educational facilities and programs through a network of natural resource producers.
